Try this- make up a character, then draw your character doing something funny.  Then see if you can make up a story about what's happening and why.  Have fun!

Story ideas 

You can make up your own story about the tooth fairy!   Is it a man?   A woman?  An animal?

How big is your tooth fairy?  What does it look like?  If you like asking those kinds of questions and creating the answers, you're on your way to being an author.  Keep it up! 

Oh Ducky started from doodles I did for my kids one day when they asked for a story.  I came up with funny characters and tried to put them in funny situations.  Give your characters a problem to solve, then see what happens as they deal with it.  You may be surprised at the places your imagination will take you!
