This was an early study for Moishe and Baila.  Too depressing!  The editor rejected it. But I still like it as an image for it's own sake.

Here's how it looks in the book.  This has the gentle humor it needed.

In the final art, I made the lighting a little more dramatic than in the sketch.  Oil paint
